The BMW 225xe Active Tourer hybrid was the first plug-in hybrid MPV to go on sale. And even now, it has very few direct or indirect rivals. The 225xe doesn’t look that different to the other models in the range – only the badges and a charging flap on the front wing give it away.
The big differences between the 225xe and the other Active Tourers are under the metal, where you’ll find a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, an electric motor and a battery pack. If that sounds familiar, it’s because the Active Tourer basically uses the same system as BMW’s i8.

All our vehicles are covered by full nationwide breakdown assistance with RAC in the unlikely event of the vehicle breaking down please contact us on any of the telephone numbers stated on your rental agreement.
You can still call RAC breakdown but it is completely hirers responsibility and the insurance does not cover for any of the clean-up cost or damage caused to the vehicle, it could be a heavy bill so please make sure you fill the right fuel.
It’s easy. Just return the vehicle to the depot of collection, where you will be met by a member of staff (during office open hours) who will check the vehicle over for mileage, fuel & damage. We advise vehicles are returned to us with the same amount of fuel as, on the collection, any fuel we dispense will be charged for. If a vehicle is returned out of hours, it is still the hirer’s responsibility until booked in by a member of staff.
